Iris Hantverk Brushes
We are very excited to have finally received our order of Iris Handverk brushes. These beautiful brushes are handmade in Sweden from local wood and all natural fibers. Traditionally, in Europe, visually impaired craftsmen and women would make brooms and brushes by hand. Iris Handverk has continued this craft, designing brushes each with their own individual function.
These are the most comfortable, effective brushes we have ever used, and the fact that they are part of a centuries old tradition only makes them more desirable. The type of wood used for the handle and the natural fibers used for the bristles are chosen based on the designated purpose of each brush, so you can be sure that you are getting the best possible tool for your specific job.

We have just received a beautiful range of hand loomed Hamam Towels. These are the towels traditionally used in Turkish Baths such as the Çemberlitaş Hamam in Istanbul. They are still woven in the traditional manner on a metiers a tisser, or hand loom.
Our Hamam towels are 100% cotton and become even softer and more absorbent after they have been washed. They are also the perfect size for a lightweight throw, tablecloth or shawl.

Linen gets better with age. The more you use it, the softer and cozier it becomes. It has natural antimicrobial properties, as well as natural wicking and insulating properties to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer.
This really might be the perfect blanket.
After the hammer, screwdrivers are, perhaps, the most basic of tools. Everyone has one, and most people never really think about them. But cabinet makers and carpenters, who have been using screwdrivers since the late Middle Ages, know that a comfortable, well-made tool can make any job easier and more enjoyable. Traditionally, people made their own tools, and whether hastily crafted, or elaborate works of art, they were always made to fit the specific hand and requirements of the user. Most tools today are manufactured by the thousand, with little or no difference between them. But the satisfaction that comes from doing a job well, with the perfect tool, has not dissipated over time. That is why we were so excited to find these wooden handled screwdriver sets with interchangeable heads. Made by a cabinet maker in England to traditional specifications, they are the only screwdriver you will ever need. The handles are gently curved and cured with linseed oil, which helps preserve and protect the wood as it slowly forms to the contours of your hand each time you use it. We think it is the perfect present.
